Rutland Primary School receives gardening vouchers from Allison Homes

Schoolchildren received a donation of vouchers and seeds to celebrate National Children’s Gardening Week.

Homebuilder Allison Homes has presented Langham Primary School pupils with £100.

Children will plant a selection of forget-me-nots, mixed summer flowers and other flowers to attract butterflies and bees.

Principal Diane Rowland said: “The children can’t wait to start planting the seeds they received, and we look forward to purchasing new equipment and resources to encourage our students to get involved in gardening.

“It is important to us that our students receive a balanced and comprehensive education. It’s one more way for our students to learn something new and have fun at the same time.

Allison Homes spokeswoman Samantha Hart said: “It was important for us to get involved with National Children’s Garden Week and do something to help students in the local community have fun a little and perhaps spark a passion for gardening.”
