Ball Horticultural Company has taken steps to strengthen its leadership in anticipation of industry and business advancements. Anna Ball, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ball, created the new position of President at Ball Horticultural Company and appointed Al Davidson to this post. The role of President will lead the day-to-day management of the business, including reporting from key executives and overseeing goal strategies among Ball’s major business entities.

Al Davidson has been with Ball for 33 years and has an excellent track record of achievement in his roles as Director of Sales at Ball Seed, Director of Supplier Relations and President of Ball FloraPlant. Most recently, he served as chairman of Ball Seed, where distribution has grown, strengthened and gained market share, according to the company.

“Al has proven that he can ‘go on an adventure’ and be successful,” says Anna Ball. “Now, as President of Ball Horticultural Company, he will continue his strong leadership and the businesses he manages will thrive. ”

With Davidson installed in this newly created role as chairman, Ball says she will be able to devote more time to strategy, resource allocation and industry relations. As CEO and President, she says she can lead the future of the company and maintain and strengthen its culture and core values.

“We are living in extraordinary times and have enormous growth opportunities as a company,” said Ball. “The demand for our industry is on the rise and it’s up to us to create the enthusiasm and provide fantastic service and products. I believe these movements strengthen the structure of our business and prepare us for the wonderful future that lies ahead. “

Davidson’s move to president cascaded a number of other role adjustments within the Ball Horticultural Company. Ball named Alan Rouse as the new president of Ball Seed. Rouse has been the company’s CFO since 2017, where he oversaw the finance team, Ball IT, human resources and seed operations.

Jacco Kuipers, who turns 25 with Ball and recently served as Managing Director of Darwin Perennials, now serves as CFO.

Finally, Karl Batschke has accepted the role of Managing Director of Darwin Perennials. Another excellent player at Ball over the past 15 years, he has built “an exceptional product pipeline for the business to endure and forged strong relationships with employees, customers and sales teams,” according to the company. .

“I am delighted to begin this new role and lead Ball Horticultural Company into the future,” said Davidson. “It is a privilege to work for such a strong company with high performing and dedicated employees. With them, we are well prepared to seize the opportunities and growth that we face as an industry.
